Our most ordered plate, and it earns it. Smoky party jollof underneath, thin-sliced beef suya on top, dusted with yaji and finished with red onion, cucumber and tomato. Two of the best things on the menu on one plate.
Suya is a northern Nigerian street food built around yaji — a dry rub of ground peanut, ginger, chilli and other spices. The beef is sliced thin, coated and grilled hot and fast so the edges char while the inside stays tender. Done properly it is nutty, smoky and hot all at once.
Pairing it with jollof gives you the two flagship flavours of Nigerian cooking in a single portion: the deep tomato-pepper base of the rice, and the dry peanut heat of the suya rub. The raw onion and cucumber are not garnish — they cut through the spice and reset your palate between bites.
The beef is trimmed, sliced and coated in yaji before it hits the grill, then finished with an extra dusting so you get the spice both in the crust and on top. Order it spicy or very spicy — we mix the rub to order rather than serving one heat level to everyone.
